ThiS song becaMe Very popular

Since it’s my blog, I have the leeway to write a post about a song that wasn’t from a Hindi film, but went on to become more popular than most songs from Hindi films that released that time.

Folks, the track was Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire, which released overseas in 2008 and in India in 2009.

The song, which Gulzar and Tanvi Shah penned, was five minutes and 19 seconds long.

It earned A R Rahman the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Shah shared Sing(h)ing credits with Sukhwinder, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Vijay Prakash.

This fouRSoMe Vas indeed awesome

By no means would it be incorrect to say that girl power came to the 'four' in Chhalka Chhalka Re from Saathiya.

The track, which could be called an underrated gem from the standpoint of the soundtrack, was rendered by Mahalakshmi Iyer, Richa Sharma, Shoma Banerjee and Vaishali Samant.

There is no doubt that A R Rahman, the composer of the song, loves to surprise the listeners.

The highlight of this song, which was penned by none other than Gulzar, was the change in tempo – it was slow at the beginning and picked up pace.

Music buffs couldn't (Mahalaksh)miss (Ud)it

If there were a discussion on A R Rahman’s top ten Hindi film soundtracks, most music buffs would include the songs of Dil Se.., which released in 1998.

And only a stranger to good music would say that Aye Ajnabi, which was penned by Gulzar, wasn’t a mind-blowing number.

It was five minutes and 48 seconds long.

It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that each line, including the portion that went, “Paakhi Paakhi Pardesi”, gave the listeners goosebumps.

(Ud)It was rendered by Narayan.

And the lady who joined him behind the (Mahalaksh)microphone was Ms Iyer.
